Day_3+4_GROUP_o1

This weekend we had a visit from Mads Møller from MAPT architects, who chalenged our design in different ways, ways which will later be described.
Saturday started by building a structure of our components - design since day o2. The structure was by first impression flawles. Mads Møller wanted for us to use some of our knowledge from day_o1. The goal for the group was to design a "flexible" piece of metal, making it possible for our structure to be mechanic. This would make it possible for the structure to change, when influenced by an external force.
The "flexible" piece of metal, designed in collaboration with Mads Møller.

After testing our new found "flexible" metal, we chose to work with the rigid "sexless" pieces of metal. By doing so, experimenting with the different length of the metal, to make our structure. The reason for doing so, was that the group did not think the structure would be stable enough in bigger measure. The group still decided on the metal pieces from day_o1, as a metal skin for one of the sides of our structure(the one with squares).
Then we continued building our structure, but we found that it had some problems, so we had to rethink our way of construction. After rethinking our contruction, we ended up with what you see in the following pictures. Imagine this 4-5 meters long and maybe 2 meters high?? And check out the voronoi-structure and curvature?? We don't believe you would have imagined this coming out of a pile of junk:D
